What have you just finished reading?

I have just finished reading Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.

Where did you get the book from?

My sister gave me the book after I had been waiting a really long time to read it. African Literature gets me excited.

How did the book make you feel?

The book had me excited at how well it is written.  I just couldn’t wait to pick it up and continue reading.

Which character did you feel close to? And why?

Ifemelu, the main character really struck a cord with me due to how much she was misunderstood, her fall into depression, losing love and a passion for writing that left her conflicted.

What do you feel the author did well in the book?

Bringing out a tender issue on race as well as life abroad for Africans in a way that gets people thinking and pricks minds with gentility.

What would you change about the book?

Having a sequel maybe. The suspense has been killing me ever since.

Who would you recommend the book to?

Everyone who hasn’t read it and appreciates African Literature.

What’s next on your reading list?
